Keeping Company with Cage was a project I worked on in my senior year at Skidmore College. It was a Cage “Double Feature”, the first half of the evening being an installation and performance of mine and Margo Mensing’s called Moratorio, the latter half of the evening being a performance of Cage’s Sonatas and Interludes for Prepared Piano. Professor David Porter performed the Sonatas on the piano and Debra Fernandez and several Skidmore student dancers choreographed and performed a wonderful accompanying dance.

I was involved as a composer and engineer for the evening, as well as designer of the various print elements of the night. I have included below the various elements of the evening I produced over the last few weeks.

My composition, Cage Landscape No. 1 for Broadcast.

The artist’s statement for the composition.

The program for the piece, designed by myself in LaTeX and Illustrator.
